The great ceiling collapse of 1969. These amazing photos were taken by Charles Schramm, Jr. of Immanuel Lutheran Church, New York City. Tremors from nearby construction caused a catastrophic collapse of the ceiling, one whole side coming down and causing destruction beneath. No one, thank God, was inside the church when it happened.
